For the new year-2010, I decided to make a resolution to get serious about my photography habit… I mean hobby. To help me realize this goal, I have started this photo blog to give me a place to organize and show my work over time, and hopefully get some feedback if I am lucky. Hi Ty, i just found this site while searching around Mattole topics. I know your mom and dad here… i live about a mile from the Mattole Grange. Anyway, i love what you are doing with your photography. Very impressive experiments and carryings-on of things that have been experimented with before, but rarely actually employed to beautiful effect (e.g. Lindsay Skateboarding= Nude Descending a Staircase + Agent Smith in “Matrix”).
Do you know the work of Rick Faist? He’s a painter from the Ashland/Jacksonville OR area. I mostly bought his greeting cards– cheap way to buy lots of beautiful art. Anyway many of your photographic images remind me of his painted ones… he loved to make circular drawings, or weave a yin-yang out of a natural scene. Psychedelic nature-love.
